ApplicationsSo, where can this tiny gyro come into play?
In mining applications this means anything can now accurately be gyro surveyed with a single tool. RC and AirCore rigs, where the inner tubes can be as small as 32mm, can now easily be surveyed using the SlimGyro. Previously, these have been difficult to run a standard gyro through the rods, so are more commonly surveyed later in the open hole. Data from open hole surveys is typically less accurate and risks tool loss downhole so not ideal and can be costly. This can cause project delays and be expensive using specialised downhole directional service providers. Huge time and cost savings can now be made simply by running the SlimGyro directly through the rods.....and because the tool is unaffected by magnetics, there is no need for expensive stainless steel rods to deal with. The tool can also be used in any standard diamond drilling applications and is particularly good for tighter navi sections. Raise Bores are another good application. The SlimGyro is proving to be highly popular in underground production blast hole surveying. Inside the standard 26mm brass running gear, the tool weighs in at only 3.5kg. This makes for easy uphole surveying with less user fatigue and increased productivity. GyroMax utilise a unique compact system for uphole surveying which includes the SlimGyro. No other survey system is as easy to use or as accurate for this application. For more information on the SlimGyro or the products we supply in support of the SlimGyro, please give us a call.
