One of the biggest challenges with reference based directional survey tools is establishing the correct starting collar direction. GyroMax utilise different systems depending on the individual projects needs and conditions at hand.
In many cases it is possible to work directly from mine grid where mine surveyors provide highly accurate reference markers. This can be the simplest solution as there is no confusion as to the mine grid conversions and everyone is working off the same baseline data.
However, there are also many occasions where this is not possible or the client prefers to work directly from a true north reference.
The GyroMax +TrueNorth Referencing Survey System enables us to establish the starting collar direction to within +/- 0.2 degrees of true north azimuth, effectively producing a highly accurate true north based survey.
The systems we use are industry leading, state-of-the-art, high tech, ring laser based systems that are both highly accurate and rugged.
